-
- Cupertino, California--January 12, 1993--Apple Computer, Inc. today
- announced that Dr. David C. Nagel, 47, will lead the company's
- Macintosh Software Architecture Division (MSAD). This division is
- responsible for the development and marketing of system software,
- tools, and extensions for Apple's Macintosh brand of personal
- computers. Nagel has been senior vice president of Apple's Advanced

- Nagel's new title is senior vice president and general manager, MSAD
- and ATG. Nagel will report to Michael Spindler, Apple's president
- and chief operating officer.
- "David Nagel is an exceptional executive--he combines a sophisticated
- vision of future technology with a pragmatic understanding of what
- customers need today," Spindler said. "He has done an outstanding
- job of converting Apple's research projects into marketable products.
- By placing both our software and advanced research activities under
- David we believe we will enhance our efforts to integrate state-of-
- the-art technologies into our software platform."
- Nagel will remain a member of Apple's Executive Management Team.
